Welcome To Kribi Investment

Welcome to Cameroon and to the first Kribi Investment Summit 2025. I extend a special welcome to those who travelled all the way from China and Hong Kong to attend this important summit in the major resort town of Kribi, in the South Province of Cameroon. The Kribi Investment Summit is the premier event organised by the Port Authority of Kribi to facilitate and foster foreign investment within this major West African port and resort.

This week you will be presented with details of very attractive and diverse investment opportunities for you and your colleagues here in Kribi. There is no better place to bring your business than Kribi, Cameroon, which is positioned in the heart of the Gulf of Guinea, at the crossroads between West and Southern Africa, with all its exceptional nautical and tourist attractions. Investors should note that our geographical location makes Kribi a natural hub for the consolidation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA).

This body was founded in 2018 and has been fully operational since 2020. It provides our region and West Africa as a whole with boundless possibilities for future development and growth, facilitating massive opportunities arising within the Kribi Industrial Zone.

The geographical location of Kribi Port

  • The port of Kribi opens Cameroon and the country of its hinterland to the eastern coast of the Atlantic Ocean in the Gulf of Guinea and is located 35km from the major city of Kribi in the locality of Mboro.
  • This geographical position places Kribi in the heart of the main north-south shipping lanes and makes it a natural hub in the context of the establishment of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
  • Kribi is directly connected to Asia and major European ports. This maritime connectivity generates very significant advantages in terms of transit time and transport costs.
  • Thanks to its natural features and facilities, Kribi has excellent maritime connectivity and can accommodate vessels with a capacity of up to 8,500 TEUs.

Why Kribi – A Rapidly Developing Tourist Venue And Industrial Hub

Kribi is also home to the Port of Kribi and will be the future home of several other government-initiated projects currently in the course of development.
  • Kribi is Cameroon’s most rapidly developing major industrial city in the South Atlantic region of West Africa.
  • Kribi is a resort town and port in the South Province of Cameroon, known for its sandy beaches and strong Atlantic surf.
  • Home to a state-of-the-art domestic gas terminal serving national demand.
  • Location of the Golar Hilli Episeyo, the world’s first ever converted floating natural gas liquefaction plant.
  • Home to Cameroon’s first ever natural gas-fired thermal power plant with a capacity of 216 MW.
